Back into purples and yellows, I am just loving these colours still, they scream happiness.

 More crochet bunting perhaps?
I feel a new project coming on!!!

Christmas time

Merry Christmas! I have really enjoyed looking at everyones beautiful posts of late in blogland and hope you all had a wonderful xmas. I am a tad late with my post as I was just too busy working the past week and too tired in the evenings, any of you in retail will know what I mean, it was hectic!
Anyway, here are a few piccies of my home on xmas day.
The closest thing I have to a mantel piece and fireplace is our wood burner, but it does the job as a focal point in the living room. I kept the decorating fairly simple this year and stuck to my fave colours, purple and aqua, with white of course. Maybe one day I will go for a more traditional colour scheme, but it just doesn't feel right when its summer time.
Presents!
I love this little bird house. For gifts I filled cute little cups with homemade white christmas.
Homemade white chocolate mud cake trees.
My second attempt at white  christmas, this year it worked and tasted yummy!
Once again, Merry Christmas.

Cake pop failure!

Over the weekend I had a practice run making cake pops, or cake balls as I wanted them to look like truffels, and well the photos speak for themselves!
At least they tasted yummy and the colours look pretty. Next time they might turn out better....we can only hope! Much more xmas baking to be done but surely not too many disasters!

Summer lovin

More sewing...I am finally getting stuck into my hoard of floral fabrics and putting them to good use. I just love putting colour/ fabric combinations together and each one becomes my new favourite lol!
I actually began this bag earlier this year, then threw it on the way side as I was a bit over my sewing machine and messy stitching. I picked it up again on my mission to complete unfinished projects, how good is it to tick another one off the list and I still love the horse fabric after all this time which is even better. It is a really good size and quite easy to make once I got my head around the pleating. I have a few more in progress now to add to my potential market stall.
Cute little bags from 'Meet me at Mikes'. I adore them and yes, there'll be more on the way!
Some more cards I have been making. This is probably my biggest joy and I find it quite theraputic making them. And I mean, how hard is it to glue things on pretty paper?

Plastic purses in pretty pastel colours

Isn't nice to feel inspired?
I've been busy this week sewing like I've never sewn before, on a mission to make multples of nice things in the hope of one day having a market stall of my very own.
Plastic purses. It's nothing new. I honestly thought it would be beyond me, but wanted to give it a go none the less with my own pretty, girly, pastel style. I'm really happy with how they turned out even though there was much cursing during the making process on my behalf, oops!

Our hydrangea is blooming in the most perfect shade of purple, and with this aqua doily it makes up my favourite colour combination of all time. Aaahhh, so lovely.
More purple flowers in my garden.
A perfect white gardenia, just heavenly.

Pretty old tea cups

Over the weekend while I was visiting Mum's house, I unpacked a box of my old tea cups. They were my great Grandmother's and are in amazing condition. It is just a shame they aren't on show, but one day I will find the perfect little cabinet to suit them. I forgot how many there are! Also, if you look closely, they are sitting on an assortment of vintage embroideries which my great Grandmother and Nan hand stitched, just so lovely.

Christmas decorating

As we all know, it's that time of year again. December has arrived a bit soon for my liking as I haven't quite sorted out my decorations for this christmas. I do have a theme, I like to have a different one each year, and I have my ideas, so thats a good start. Hopefully by next weekend my home will be looking suitably festive.

In the meantime, I gave my Mum's living room a little christmas cheer. I have been re-decorating the place for the last 2 years, on a very tight budget, but the loungeroom is really coming together. It is so lovely and bright, with a slight beachy feel so I thought pinks and purples would look so pretty especially with the pastel aqua walls.
Aah, it's just the best going back to the home where I grew up.
