Cute fruits

The other day I was flipping through my collection of Mollie Makes magazines and I was reminded of the lovely fabric apples and pears from issue 6 which I had intended to make at the time, but never got around to it ,which happens a lot to me I find, does it happen to you? Anyway, feeling all inspired yesterday I finally had a go and I have to say, I love them! And they were pretty easy too...

The yellow pear is my favourite.
It almost looks as though they just tumbled from the tree! :)
Even the underside looks appealing.

I must make more...for what reason I do not know except for the fact that I have a 'thing' about the shape of a pear right now and they are just a bit cute aren't they?
I would love to see other peoples fabric fruit, yes pretty please!

crochet in the sunshine

Here are some photos of my latest work in progress, a sunburst granny blanket. I have made almost 60 circles so far and aim to double that as I want a decent size blanket. It is my new activity to do out in the afternoon sun, the colours look so lovely in the bright light.

I will keep updating my progress, as I have just begun joining the circles. I am really enjoying this project and am just a bit excited about the end result!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh!
I lived in Ireland for 2 years between 2007-2009 and I miss my one time home at the best of times but today especially. To help cheer myself up, I made some green cupckaes. They taste gggooooddd!

I'll leave you with one of my favourite photos from my last Paddy's day in Dublin, in 2009, taken by a friend. Aah, memories.

Pretty shelves

Last year I bought book shelf from Ikea and do you think I can get the styling right? I look and look at the shelves and am never quite happy, but yesterday after a touch more rearranging I am getting nearer....at least the colours make me happy!

My area of the living room, very girly indeed!

Patchwork Recipe Folder

It was a good friends birthday over the weekend and since she is quite into her baking, I made her a patchwork folder to store all her recipes in. The floral fabric is a vintage sheet and I added a few bits of orange fabric that I bought the other day. I'm not that into orange but I wanted to brighten up my fabric stash for future projects, but I have to admit that it's kind of growing on me...but in moderation of course!

A title page just so you know what it's for haha.
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, the weather today was so nice that I sat outside in the sunshine and did some crochet, bliss
