Pretty rainbow

Rainbows make me happy. I crocheted this quick little cushion and it puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.
Embrace all the pretty colours on offer I say!
Have a bright and colourful weekend. xxx

Sunburst blanket progress

Here's a peek at my granny blanket so far. I made so many squares, or so I thought, and once I joined them all together it really isn't all that big! I'd say it is about a third of the size I'd like it to be. This blanket is a real labour of love, soooo time consuming but very rewarding. Looking at all my favourite colours and how they pop out against the white makes me so happy. But I have taken a tiny break from this project just to do a few small things that can be completed quickly. I'm sure I'll be back in the swing of it very soon though as the weather is getting a little cooler and it would be a shame not to finish it for winter. Why does crocheting take so long!!

I adore looking at granny blankets on Pinterest, especially seeing the different colour combinations. Practical and beautiful....and something to hand down.

Crochet cushion covers

Last week I completed, yes that's right completed, one of my many works in progress. I made these crochet cushion covers as a present for my partner's 30th birthday. They are nice and snuggly and not so precious that they can't be used. I can't wait to finish off a few more....they weren't that hard, I just machine stitched the crochet front panel onto some fabric backing!

Here is the birthday boy's cake....I decorated a bought sponge with chocolate buttercream, chocolate shards and grated choc on top, YUM!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. xxx

Strawberry hat

Now don't laugh....but I have wanted a strawberry hat ever since I worked in a childrens boutique store in London (2006/7) where we sold them, but sadly they didn't fit my adult size head. Yes I did try on a baby's hat!
So since I can now crochet, I trawled the internet for an easy pattern and yippee I found one that included womens sizes here. I think I might do a blueberry one too, why not a whole range of berry hats ready for winter!

Does it look like a GIANT strawberry has grown in my garden?
If anyone has crocheted something similar, send me links!

Happy Easter

Here are the last few shots of easter at my place...bunnies everywhere :)
The yellow scrappy bunny I made for my mum.

 Homemade chocolates.

My darling Cookie 2 years ago when he was just a wee baby. Too cute.
Wishing you a very happy Easter.

Easter display

I just loooove Easter. Mainly because I adore cute bunnies, chocolate and hot cross buns, but also my favourite colours are associated with Easter.....pastel and spring-like (despite it being Autumn here). I get so excited when I see easter stock arriving in stores and Bed Bath and Table have the best decorations in my opinion, I had to really control myself this year.
Here is my little Easter display. It kept me busy this morning and I am pretty pleased with it, although I didn't fit all my bunnies in so they are just popped around the house for now.
The little glass rabbits are from BB&T and could not be more up my alley. I love the vintage look of them and of course the colours!
After looking at a most beautiful blog, nana company  and feeling inspired, I sorted through my stash of fabric scraps and made this sweet rabbit. Then I made another one which I will post later. The frame ( originally garish gold) was an op shop find which I painted white and 'shabbied' up.
 Lovely pastel speckled eggs.

A thrifted bunny.

Now I think it might be time to sit back with a cup of coffee and a sneaky easter egg or two, hehehe...xxx
