Cute stamps

I began packaging up my handmade cards today, but needed a sticker to seal the plastic. These little animal stamps from Typo came in very handy to pretty up the plain, ordinary white sticky labels and added just the right amount of cuteness for me.

Here they are, all packaged up....now I just have to put a price on them and sell them!

guest room

Here are a few photos of a really quick make over I gave our spare room yesterday. I wanted to make the room pretty and cosy for our guests to enjoy after their long flight from London. It is an old fashioned room, notice the wall paper and scarlet red carpet, but there is a lovely appeal to it. I am almost tempted to change rooms and move our bed in there.

Flamingo fairy lights, let out of their packet for the first time....and of course some more crochet bunting!

For my Sweetheart

As we all know, yesterday was Valentines Day. The tradition between my partner and I isn't to buy expensive presents but to cook for each other. This year I couldn't wait to BAKE!
A modified version of rockie road using pink coloured white chocolate, marshmallows, rice bubbles and coconut, all pushed into heart shaped cookie cutters.
Chocolate cupcakes, with dark chocolate ganache icing and tiny heart sprinkles.
 Mmmmmm...
A homemade card for my man.
And I was really spoilt with this gorgeous gift from my love. But what means the most to me are the words written in the card.
I hope you had a lovely valentines day.

Pastel makeover #2

I've had this wooden box for awhile now and recently gave it a lick of lilac paint and lined it with off cuts of patterned paper so it would fit in with my pretty/pastel style. It is quite functional too as it is the perfect size to house my handmade cards. While I had my paper stash out, I took the opportunity to make a few more cards as well. I think I've made about 40 so far...
Notice the fabric?? I couldn't wait to make a little plastic purse for myself. It is inspired (direct copy) of Emma's from I Love Buttons By Emma. The birdy fabric is one of my favourites, but I only had a fat quarter of it so I use it sparingly.
Purples and yellows....Aaaaahhhhh lovely!

New fabric store!

Yesterday Hobby Sew opened up locally at Erina. Keen to check out their range of fabric, my crafty partner in crime Emma and I went along and I came home with a few bargains for my stash.
Gorgeous fabric and a few trims.
More beads, as if I need them! And these aqua paper doilies from Typo. I am sure some of these items will crop up soon in a new creation...

Rainy day baking

Pinterest. An endless source of inspiration but also a site that steals away the hours. Even worse than that, after trawling through oh so many images of yummy cupcakes I have had a monstrous craving, a craving that has lasted weeks. So, since it has been raining non stop today I finally gave in and baked my ultimate comfort food, cake. It was meant to be a low fat coconut and banana cake, but my bananas were still green so I used pureed pineapple instead and it turned out pretty well and super moist, although you really can't taste the pineapple.

Don't ask me why I made red icing! I would have preferred yellow, but it is about the only colour I'm missing.
YUM!
