Purple flowers and a mossy rabbit

The supermarket has been kind to me this week. Firstly in the Easter section I fell in love with the mossy rabbit, so he came home with me. Then I treated myself to a bunch of beautiful Iris flowers, aren't they divine?! I adore the colour combination of purple and yellow and I think the mossy rabbit does too ;)

I am getting excited about Easter and easter decorating. It is my favourite time of the year...bunnies, chocolate and hot cross buns, what's not to love. Oh and how can I forget the pastel colours!
Looking so forward to all the easter projects that should be popping up on the blogs over the next few weeks.

Tuxedo San

I have been non stop crocheting lately as I have become a little obsessed with amigurumi. This cutest penguin ever has been in my mind since last year when I found him on google images and I finally discovered that there was a free pattern, how did I miss that??!

So cute I thought I'd make a girl one too...
She's not quite as good as the first one, but still cute.
Aaaaaw, my little penguin couple...maybe soon there will be the pitter patter of baby penguin feet :)

half a scarf!

Half a scarf! Yes I have added to my ever growing pile of half finished creations, but what can I say? I got excited again! On Last weeks creative spaces I spied some gorgeous rainbow scarves and thought this could be the perfect pattern to use my pastel multi coloured wool which I've had stashed for months! Using a size 9 hook, it took no time at all to use up one whole ball of wool and it's already long...so one more to go and it will be, erm, twice as long! A very simple but effective pattern, Yay for that.

How about my cute bunny? A car boot sale bargain at only $3 or $4 ( I can't remember )and it came with 2 little ones too. I LOVE bunnies.

Nice thick yarn, this scarf is going to be so snuggly come winter time.

pastel wool love

As I may have mentioned before...I LOVE pastel colours! Inspired by the many beautiful scandinavian homes which are filled with white, light and pastel touches, I am on a mission to give my home a nini makeover...it has to be 'mini' since we rent. Luckily most of our walls are white in our living area so it's just a case of editing what is on display and adding a few things here and there.

I made this mandala originally to sit on my Lilac coffee table ( more on that later! ), but I am thinking now that I might like it better as a lovely round cushion. So technically it remains 'unfinished'. I made it up as I went along and used colours from an artwork which is yet to be hung on the wall. My inspiration came from this gorgeous blog.

Part of the new art work. I was so drawn to this not only because of the colours but also we live near the beach so I quite like a bit of seaside theme.
Stay tuned for the big room reveal, once I actually get it done!

crochet beads & things

Remember those little crochet balls I posted awhile ago? Well I turned some into a necklace with a few wooden beads thrown in for good measure. I had a 'vision' of what I wanted to make and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Very quick and easy...but looks so boutique.

I also made the birdy brooch. All a xmas gift for my wonderful friend Emma.
 Lovely colours...Must make more!

I am fully embracing my love of pastel colours and have many, many more projects on the go....hopefully I will also be finishing off the many, many projects sometime soon. I'm terrible for not finishing things as I just can't wait to start something new. It seems to be common amongst over excited crafters lol!

Poffertjes

My new favourite breakfast would have to be Poffertjes (how do you pronounce it??). I bought myself a dutch pancake maker for only $10 just after christmas and now I am obsessed with these little puffs of yumness. I'm a little late to discover these as it seems everybody has had them and has a special poffertjes (I'm even obsessed with that word!) maker stashed in the cupboard, but better late than never and I am excited haha!

Simple with a dusting of icing sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup. Next time with Nutella, mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
