Sunny happy bedroom makeover

Inspired by a yellow cushion and my pretty new(ish) bed linen, I gave our bed a sunshiney makeover. It seems yellow is here to stay in my life!

Another crochet cushion cover! And these purple floral vintage sheets have been in my family since I was a child, I just love them.
How can you not be happy around this colour.

Nice to see our bedroom looking so lovely...however, this stylized look only lasted a day!!

Easter display

I just loooove Easter. Mainly because I adore cute bunnies, chocolate and hot cross buns, but also my favourite colours are associated with Easter.....pastel and spring-like (despite it being Autumn here). I get so excited when I see easter stock arriving in stores and Bed Bath and Table have the best decorations in my opinion, I had to really control myself this year.
Here is my little Easter display. It kept me busy this morning and I am pretty pleased with it, although I didn't fit all my bunnies in so they are just popped around the house for now.
The little glass rabbits are from BB&T and could not be more up my alley. I love the vintage look of them and of course the colours!
After looking at a most beautiful blog, nana company  and feeling inspired, I sorted through my stash of fabric scraps and made this sweet rabbit. Then I made another one which I will post later. The frame ( originally garish gold) was an op shop find which I painted white and 'shabbied' up.
 Lovely pastel speckled eggs.

A thrifted bunny.

Now I think it might be time to sit back with a cup of coffee and a sneaky easter egg or two, hehehe...xxx

Pretty shelves

Last year I bought book shelf from Ikea and do you think I can get the styling right? I look and look at the shelves and am never quite happy, but yesterday after a touch more rearranging I am getting nearer....at least the colours make me happy!

My area of the living room, very girly indeed!

guest room

Here are a few photos of a really quick make over I gave our spare room yesterday. I wanted to make the room pretty and cosy for our guests to enjoy after their long flight from London. It is an old fashioned room, notice the wall paper and scarlet red carpet, but there is a lovely appeal to it. I am almost tempted to change rooms and move our bed in there.

Flamingo fairy lights, let out of their packet for the first time....and of course some more crochet bunting!

Fun photo shoot

Last weekend I had the pleasure of a visit from my dear friend Saoirse, who was staying a few days in between her travels. As soon as I saw her fabulous new purple hair,I knew we just had to have a mini photo shoot. It was so much fun, with bubbles (detergent ones and bubbles of the alcoholic variety) and LOTS of COLOUR! Check out my awesome vintage sheet too, one of my best op shop finds as it's completely my colours and was even unopened,in the original packet!
Such a gorgeous girl, inside and out, and what a talented make up artist, I adore her eyeshadow(s). It was a wonderful day. I hope to do a few more fun photo shoots this year as I have some ideas up my sleeve and lots of props lol!

Pastel make over #1

Behold, my first completed project of 2012!
I've had this on my to-do list for a little while now, but finally went to the hardware store last week and bought a few pots of paint in pretty pastel colours so now everything can have a colourful makeover. The little shelf was from an op shop last year for only $2, and is now brightening up my ever evolving "craft" room.
Note the light switch. I wasn't best pleased having this in shot but with limited areas to hang my little shelf what can you do, just keeping it real!
A pastel rainbow of vintage cotton reels, pure heaven.
Oliver wasn't the slightest bit interested!

Christmas decorating

As we all know, it's that time of year again. December has arrived a bit soon for my liking as I haven't quite sorted out my decorations for this christmas. I do have a theme, I like to have a different one each year, and I have my ideas, so thats a good start. Hopefully by next weekend my home will be looking suitably festive.

In the meantime, I gave my Mum's living room a little christmas cheer. I have been re-decorating the place for the last 2 years, on a very tight budget, but the loungeroom is really coming together. It is so lovely and bright, with a slight beachy feel so I thought pinks and purples would look so pretty especially with the pastel aqua walls.
Aah, it's just the best going back to the home where I grew up.

Purple and Yellow = Happy Colours!

What a lucky girl I was this week to receive the most absolutely gorgeous bunch of flowers. They were  a belated birthday present from a dear friend and my goodness they have made me happy. I have been oohing and aahing over them at every opportunity and the stunning colours have inspired me to make a happy little spring display.
The colours tie in beautifully with the Bunting I already had hanging in the window, don't you love it when these things just magically happen!
How sweet is this little spotty cup...and it's from Coles. Thanks to my friend Emma who alerted me to the fact Coles had them.
I adore these Kashmiri papier mache bangles from one of my all time favourite stores, Tree of Life.
I've even added yellow to my nail polish collection, but it's ok because its Pastel!

Can you tell I love colour? What colour combinations float your boat?
