Plastic purses in pretty pastel colours

Isn't nice to feel inspired?
I've been busy this week sewing like I've never sewn before, on a mission to make multples of nice things in the hope of one day having a market stall of my very own.
Plastic purses. It's nothing new. I honestly thought it would be beyond me, but wanted to give it a go none the less with my own pretty, girly, pastel style. I'm really happy with how they turned out even though there was much cursing during the making process on my behalf, oops!

Our hydrangea is blooming in the most perfect shade of purple, and with this aqua doily it makes up my favourite colour combination of all time. Aaahhh, so lovely.
More purple flowers in my garden.
A perfect white gardenia, just heavenly.

Pretty old tea cups

Over the weekend while I was visiting Mum's house, I unpacked a box of my old tea cups. They were my great Grandmother's and are in amazing condition. It is just a shame they aren't on show, but one day I will find the perfect little cabinet to suit them. I forgot how many there are! Also, if you look closely, they are sitting on an assortment of vintage embroideries which my great Grandmother and Nan hand stitched, just so lovely.

Christmas decorating

As we all know, it's that time of year again. December has arrived a bit soon for my liking as I haven't quite sorted out my decorations for this christmas. I do have a theme, I like to have a different one each year, and I have my ideas, so thats a good start. Hopefully by next weekend my home will be looking suitably festive.

In the meantime, I gave my Mum's living room a little christmas cheer. I have been re-decorating the place for the last 2 years, on a very tight budget, but the loungeroom is really coming together. It is so lovely and bright, with a slight beachy feel so I thought pinks and purples would look so pretty especially with the pastel aqua walls.
Aah, it's just the best going back to the home where I grew up.

Today I treated myself to a calorie free cup cake from the handmade markets. It looks so amazing, and I want to eat it...but it's soap!
Another treat. I've been searching for these pastel dunlop volley's for a little while and well, here they are! Cant resist pastel goodness.

predominantly pretty & pastel

I said I wouldn't buy any more fabric untill I had a specific purpose for it, I've said this many, many times...but I gave in. Again.
Love these, especially the little trees. And the other two, well I'm thinking of starting a quilt of pinks and pale aqua, but first I really must finish off the quilts in progress.
The pom poms and sweet blue birdy came from a $2 shop.
 What a cutie!
This week I learnt to crochet hearts from here. Could be a new obsession as they are so quick, easy and just lovely.
Afternoon coffee break. I didn't eat all the marshmallows, although I wanted to!
And what is a post without bunting lol! I made this for my friend's daughter. It will be the last bunting for a wee while as I am making it my mission to finish off all my other projects before the end of the year...and then look out 2012, I will be going bunting crazy!

Bunting, bunting...everywhere!

It's been awhile between blog posts due to having such a poor internet service of late. I have a back log of photos to put up, it has been so frustrating! But anyway, here I am with some colour, now there's a surprise lol!
I made this bunting for myself to see what a white edging would look like, and I really love it. I adore white these days as it makes colours really pop and also looks clean and fresh. It is in our living room above our hallway entrance.
Bright bunting for a friend. She has a little boy and a little girl who share a room so I tried to incorporate as many colours as possible instead of my usual girly shades. The kiddies loved it...I look forward to decorating a baby's room some day for my own child and of course there will be bunting everywhere!
Crochet is taking over my life! I have five projects on the go right now and with a bit of luck I will finish at least one of them very soon, so stay tuned! xxx
